 2016 Preview 


       Prattville Christian finished the 2015 season with a disappointing 3-7 record. Last year Prattville Christian finished seventh in Class 3A region three with a 1-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       The Panthers have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2016.

       Prattville Christian was inconsistent offensively last year and that needs to pick up if the Panthers want to be competitive. They only averaged 18.9 points a game.

       Since 2010, Prattville Christian has gone a combined 24-41. Their 37.0% winning percentage ranks 41st in Class 3A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 10 seasons, Prattville Christian has not won much with a record of 35-72. Their 33.0% winning percentage ranks 51st in Class 3A and 330th in the AHSAA. The Panthers have struggled on the football field with only two winning seasons during this time. Their last winning season was 2010.

After only two seasons at Prattville Christian, Chris Jones will not return for the 2016 football season as the head coach. His teams finished 7-14 losing their only playoff appearance in 2014.


John Fussell became the head football coach at Prattville Christian during the off season. He comes from Straugh where he served as the defensive coordinator.

He was also the baseball coach at Straughn from 2006-2014 winning three area championships during his term.



       Coach Fussell's overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 3-7 (30.0%).

       The Prattville Christian Panthers will play in Class 3A region three during the 2016 season.

       It will be an uphill battle for the Panthers if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region three this season.

       The Panthers open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Thorsby on Friday, August 19 at Panther Field. Last year the Thorsby Rebels finished with an overall record of 6-5 and in third place in Class 2A region four. The Rebels lost in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs to Providence Christian by a score of 17-6.

       Prattville Christian and Thorsby have met a total of 6 times on the football field. The Panthers have a 2-4-0 record against the Rebels. They last met in with
